What are Cricut cartridges anyway?

Provo Craft currently has 3 similar machines, they are called the Cricut Personal Cutter, and the Cricut Expression, and the Cricut Create The original cricut machine is very much like the Cricut Expression, only smaller, the Cricut Create is the newest machine and falls somewhere in the middle between the other machines. It has many of the features of the expression, with the size of the Cricut Personal Cutter.

To add extra objects, shapes, and fonts to the machines, you buy cartridges. There are currently over 60 different cartridges available for the Cricut machines. More cartridges are added every few months. The Cricut machines also have software available for purchase called “Cricut Design Studio“, which allows you to use your cartridges in new and even more creative ways.

The goal of this site is to review and explain what each cartridge can do. We also will try to provide great high resolution images of what the cartridge has, so be sure to click on the images to view the larger size. The price of a cartridge is anywhere between $35 and $100, so you want to choose carefully which ones to buy.

Cartridges are not only used in the Cricut brand of machines, but are also used in Cuttlebug and other die-cut systems as well. Right now the site has mostly cartridges relating to these 2 machines, mainly because they are very popular systems. However we will be adding many other cartridge descriptions as time goes on.
