Start out by baking your cupcakes, in your choice of recipes and flavors, and letting them cool. Choose your gum paste colors based on the gender of the baby, or use a variety of pastels if it’s unknown. Cut circles from fondant using the Holiday Cakes Cricut cartridge that fit the top of the cupcake from blue for a boy, pink for a girl, or pastel yellow. Attach these using a small amount of icing or shortening to the top of the cupcake. Then, using white gum paste, cut your phrases, alternating between Welcome Baby! and It’s a Boy or Girl! if appropriate. The Welcome Baby! phrase also features a small flower that can be cut from red or yellow gum paste.

Instead of giving out the same store bought candy as every other home in your neighborhood for Halloween, why not make spooky and sweet individually wrapped cookies? You can make your cookie base from any recipe that provides a smooth top to the cookie, or even use pre-baked sugar cookies from your local bakery to save time. Use sheets of black and orange gum paste to match the theme. Top each cookie with a circle of fondant to start. Mix and match between the various Halloween images such as three swirling pumpkins, a spooky old house with a bright orange moon rising over it, and the wide pumpkin with a big orange grin. Attach the decorations with a dab of icing or shortening to hold them on, and let them dry. Then bag each of them in a small cellophane bag, and tie it shut with an orange ribbon with black bats or a similarly themed tie.

Father’s Day is a celebration of all things Dad, so the cake you present to the father in your life should be too. Decorating the perfect Father’s Day sheet cake is easy with this cartridge. Start with a cooled cake that has been frosted with white frosting. Cut one of the two classic car images out of red and light blue gum paste, as well as No. 1 Dad license plate from the same colors. Place one image in two opposite corners of the cake, and write your personal message in the middle in blue or red gel icing. Alternately, you can use the font setting on the Holiday Cakes Cricut cartridge to cut your personal message from gum paste as well.
