The Cricut Create Versus The Cricut Expression

The Cricut Create Versus The Cricut Expression

The Cricut Create Machine is a personal cutter with the same usability as the Expression, but is more portable. It is the same size as the first Cricut machine. It can cut areas in the range from .25” to 11.5” inches that are placed on a cutting mat measuring 6” X 12.” It has included a blade that cuts in eight different directions, with a user friendly screen that displays choices and functions. The functions included with it are: portrait, flip, auto fill, center point and fit to page. It also has in its bundle the 6” X 12” cutting mat, Don Juan font cartridge and another shape cartridge. Its portability is a huge advantage to those wanting to carry it to scrapbooking parties.

The Cricut Expression Machine, on the other hand, is a much larger unit and works best from a central table top area. It utilizes two sized mats, 12” X 12” and 12” X 24.” The die cuts, layouts, images and letters can be printed much larger than they can be on the Create Machine. In its bundle it includes a 12” X 12” cutting mat, Plantin Schoolbook Cartridge and the Accent Essentials Cartridge, though these can vary with the different bundle packs.

Both machines use the same blades and fonts, but the Cricut Create is built for portability while the Cricut Expression is built for size and stand alone functioning.
