Every summer I create a “beach” on my display shelves. I have fishing net, sand, water, glass bubbles and hundreds of shells (I’ve collected them all my life). I can already envision little starfish and octopi (ha) suspended from fishing line, dangling in the fishbowl. Glittered waves of navy paper will be the border…can’t wait.

“Life’s A Beach Cartridge” has so much to offer. We have several grandchildren who will be coming to spend a few weeks with us throughout this summer. While they are here, we plan to visit the Chicago Shedd Aquarium, go to the outdoor Water Park, take them swimming in the local indoor pool, spend some time along the Naperville River Walk, go to the Chicago Lake Front, the Children’s Museum, the Zoo, and much more! This cartridge would be perfect to use for making a “Memory Scrap Book” of their time spent here. I would also use it to help them make cards to send their parents that would include the different things that they saw and the places they visited. They could use the letters, numbers, borders, and choose individual items to incorporate what they saw. Not only would they be able to send a personalized card, but it would be a great training tool to teach them how to make cards and scrapbook (our future scrap booking generation).
The ideas for use of this cartridge are endless! This is one of those cartridges that will become a “treasured keeper” (which also sparks my imagination of various ways to use the “treasure chest”)!
So, these are just a few of the ways that I would use this cartridge. But, what would be the most meaningful use of this cartridge to me would be that, I would be able to share this special quality time creating memories with the ones that I love…

And there are so many possibilities for making something for each child’s name. This cartridge could do more then one month even! Beach scene and Aquatic scene. Life’s a Beach is a wonderful cartridge. We live on the Maryland eastern shore where most every aspect of life is centered around water. There would be many projects for me to use this cartridge. The main project would be to make fun placements for my family, as well as gifts for friends. Using the different designs (the crab would be first used) could be cut from fun red/orange calico fabrics. Then appliqued on quilted fabric cut into large ovals. Sew a little bit of binding around the edge to complete it. My sister-in-law has a lighthouse obsession, and making her homemade lighthouse placemats would really be something special I could do for her.

This is a great summer time cartridge for anybody who enjoys the beach.

I would like to do some of the images on the vinyl and frame the mirror that is currently very large and outdated! We live in SW Florida approx. 10 miles from the nearest beach! Sadly, many of my students rarely get to go to the beach so these images will be very exciting to them! Keep up the great designing, Cricut!! Thank you for this opportunity!

Being new to the Cricut, mine just came this week; I am excited to expand my crafting using this form of media. The value of the cartridge is the range of summer fun activities that the collection represents.
I take Saturday or Sunday mornings each week to give my wife a break to sleep in from our 2 ½ year old Girl as Daddy Morning. Given this we usually do a craft together. I especially like the Jolly Jogger (Skull and cross bones) because we recognize this and many other Icons on this cartridge from the tales of the Backyardigans. All I can say is we would both appreciate the cartridge and the time spent together using it.
Thanks,

The Life’s a Beach cartridge showcases the diversity of sealife with delightful and elegant images. These images are so appealing in their calm playfulness that I feel, as a kindergraten teacher, that they are a perfect bridge for helping me to introduce my young students to a sophisticated concept, the history of life. I plan on using it to create a timeline of the development of life through the geological eras by presenting the images of Life’s a Beach in chronological order. The youngsters will undoubtedly be attracted to the timeline by the beautiful images, and this will help them internalize the lesson–life is beautiful (and so is it’s history:))!

I would love to win the Life’s a Beach cartridge to scrapbook my upcoming 30th Birthday Cruise! I want to make all of my friends’ luggage tags and decorations for their cabin doors and this cartridge is perfect! Thank you cards, scrapbook pages and picture frames will come next. So many cute shapes!! If I can’t win the cartridge, maybe I will get one for my birthday…I better send a link to mom, hahaha.

If anyone could tell me how to cut a 12″ long border with my Cricut Expression I’d REALLY appreciate it! I’ve been working at it on and off for a couple of days and just can’t figure it out!

I have used many of the cutouts to create this great page that has sea shells, sand castles and kids playing on the beach with beach balls.

I would love to win the Life is a Beach cartridge because I am getting married next year and was trying to cut costs by creating a beautiful invitations on my own. I have borrowed a machine and really wanted all the relatives in New York and New Jersey to excited about coming when they open it up and see my beautiful Florida invitations.
